Dog Dragged Behind Scooter

A dog was tied up with a rope behind a speeding scooter at Perumkulam, Edakkara West. An onlooker, a good Samaritan, Mr. Ummer, and others chased the scooter and recorded a video at Muslyarangadi and intercepted the vehicle. The scooter driver assaulted and abused Mr. Ummer for recording the video.  The dog was dragging behind the scooter for 3 km with a speed of  60 kms/hr from Perumkulam to Muslyarangadi.   The video became viral around the world in social media. We have submitted a complaint to Edakkara Police Station. They had booked for a minor punishment of Rs. 50/- under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act-1960. Though we have prepared a private complaint with the magistrate court at Edakkara, nobody came forward to support us.
