A dog was tied up behind a car a dragged through a public road for abandoning. This was a sensational case. The police slapped the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act-1960 to wash off the public. We have found out that the fine was only Rs. 50/-. We have approached the Magistrate court against the police department, demanding an attempt to kill a dog, in which the punishment would be up to 5 years imprisonment. The magistrate dismissed the petition as the provisions were incorrect in the petition.
