A special court was constituted by the Kerala High Court to deal with Animal Cruelty in the name of ‘In Re Bruno” a suo motu initiated proceedings due to a dog mercilessly beaten to kill by locals at Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthauram. We have been impleaded in the case as a respondent.
In the impleading petition, we have highlighted a poster displayed in all the Animal Veterinary Hospitals throughout Kerala, which announces that they do not feed water or food for stray dogs. The poster has been there since 2016. The poster itself created huge stray dog abuse, and those who fed the stray dogs were abused or manhandled. The poster was removed after three days of our submission.
