A Second Petition to Release Wild Tuskers PM2, PT7, Five Tigers in Captivity

The single-judge bench of the High Court declined to grant an interim stay for the release of the PM2 and PT7 wild elephants. The judge deliberately extended the timeline for the Wildlife Department to file a counter affidavit. In the meantime, the elephants were undergoing intense training. To address this situation and generate public outrage and pressure, we have filed a second petition for their release.

As anticipated, the second petition attracted considerable media attention, and the public’s call to end the abuse of elephants intensified. An outpouring of protests on social media concerning the illegal capture and abuse bolstered the movement aimed at stopping the capture and training of the third elephant, Arikomban.

The status of this petition is also awaiting a decision from the High Court under questionable circumstances.
